The State of Propane M&A 2026
The flagship report. Market fragmentation measured from primary data, deal velocity with the counting caveat nobody states, buyer and advisor concentration, what valuation evidence actually survives scrutiny, and an explicit account of what the industry cannot measure.
The Propane M&A Tracker
Every announced propane transaction in the trailing twelve months — 65 of them — sortable and filterable, categorized into retail propane versus adjacent industries, with the seller-side advisor attributed where one was named. Updated quarterly.
How we grade what we publish
- A — verified against a primary source we loaded ourselves.
- B — a secondary source, or self-reported by an interested party. Press releases and marketing claims never rate better than this.
- C — inferred, estimated, or resting on a single unconfirmed source.
Where sources disagree, we report the disagreement rather than picking the number we prefer. Where a figure cannot be verified, we say so plainly instead of quietly leaving it out.
